We are having our 10th trail work day on Saturday September 16, 2017. This work day will be devoted to building rubber diverters and installing sign posts along the new trail.
We will be meeting at Gord’s Store in Milan and at 8:30am then going to Leo Couture's house which is located 2 blocks away to prep the materials.
Then we will head out to the trail to install the diverters and posts.
Here are directions for meeting us at Gord’s Corner Store; From Rt. 3 in Groveton, take Rt. 110 east 13.5 miles to the junction of Rt. 110 and Rt. 110A and you will see Gord’s Corner Store. Gord’s has coffee, breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches so it is a great place to stock up for the trail work day. If you get there late, ask for directions to Leo's house at the store.
We need volunteers to carry and install sign posts. Please bring gloves, 4' steel bar, post hole digger, shovel and a small level. If you have an ATV, please bring it. If you do not have an ATV, you can hitch a ride with one of our other volunteers.
We also need volunteers to build and install rubber diverters. These are 8' long 2" x 6" boards with rubber between them that are held together with (5) 3/8" x 4" bolts. We will have all of the tools to build the diverters. But to install them, please bring gloves, shovel, pick axe, hoe or a small claw rake. They only get installed 6" into the ground so anything that can dig a small trench is helpful.
Free accommodations are available for anyone coming from out of town. If you are planning to attend, please call or email.
